NICK KELLY begann seine Karriere in den 1990ern als Sänger und Songwriter der irischen Band „The Fat Lady Sings“, veröffentlichte vier Solo-Alben, teiweise unter seinem Künstlernamen Alien Envoy, und gilt als einer der innovativsten Independent-Musiker Irlands. Seit 2003 arbeitet er als Drehbuchautor und Regisseur und realisierte mehrere Kurzfilme, die weltweit auf Filmfestivals liefen und ausgezeichnet wurden. Der Kurzfilm „Shoe“ erhielt 2011 eine Oscar-Nominierung. Mit „The Drummer & The Keeper“ gibt er sein Spielfilmdebüt, das 2017 u.a. beim Galway Film Fleadh als „Best First Irish Feature“ prämiert wurde.
