Bonn 1948. In Germany’s transitional parliament MP and lawyer Elisabeth Selbert is fighting against all opposition to include the sentence “Men and women are equal” in the Constitution of the future Federal Republic of Germany. Together with her secretary Irma she involves the “woman in the street” in a national campaign to support her political work. The campaign is a success. Elisabeth Selbert experiences a wonderful triumph when her proposal is included in Article 3 of the new Constitution: “Men and women are equal”. At the same time she lays the foundation for the political and social discourse on the subject of equality over the past 65 years.

Erica von Moeller
Erica von Moeller wurde 1968 in Wiesbaden geboren. Sie studierte Freie Bildende Kuns t in Mainz und Kommunikationswissenschaften in Frankfurt, bevor sie an der Kunsthochschule für Medien in Köln im Bereich Film diplomierte. Seit 2001 arbeitet sie freiberuflich als Autorin und Regisseurin. Als Medienkünstlerin realisiert sie Ausstellungsprojekte an der Schnittstelle zwischen Bewegtbild, Raum und Klang. Seit 2011 ist sie Professorin für audiovisuelle Medien an der Bergischen Universität Wuppertal. Ihre Filme liefen auf vielen internationalen Festivals und wurden mehrfach ausgezeichnet.
