Diego and Miguel, both in their mid-forties, live in a run-down apartment in the middle of Havana, without running water or any creature comforts. Miguel earns his money as a dish-washer in a privately run restaurant and, together with neighbours and family, takes care of Diego, who is bed-bound and suffers from HIV. Diego tries to keep his spirits up, while Miguel withdraws more and more. Only the two of them know that Miguel is secretly planning to emigrate to the USA and is waiting for his visa...
