Trapped inside her house in a city under siege, Oum Yazan turned her flat into a safe harbor for her family and neighbors, trying to protect them from the war outside. When bombs threaten to destroy the building, when snipers turn the courtyards into deadly zones, and burglars break in to claim their dreadful bounties, maintaining the thin balance of routine inside the walls becomes a matter of life and death.

Philippe Van Leeuw
PHILIPPE VAN LEEUW wurde 1954 in Brüssel geboren. Er studierte an der Brüsseler Filmschule INSAS, bevor er nach Los Angeles zog, um am American Film Institute Kamera zu studieren. Zu seinen Lehrern gehörten dort u.a. Ingmar Bergmans Weggefährte Sven Nykvist und Conrad Hall. Nach seiner Rückkehr nach Europa war er als Kameramann für diverse Dokumentarfilme sowie in der Werbung tätig. Mit „The Day God Walked Away“ feierte er 2009 sein Regiedebüt. „Innen Leben“ ist sein zweiter Spielfilm als Regisseur.
