A single father and peripheral poet loses his job as a literary critic. He ends up at Yarden, a transshipment hub for car imports. He becomes an outcast, who must learn to negotiate the suspicions of his immigrant co-workers and the strict regulations of the Swedish management. At home, the relationship with his teenage son quickly deteriorates. Personal morals are pitted against the demands of fatherhood in an escalating conflict that is ultimately resolved by a lie.

Måns Månsson
geboren 1982 in Stockholm, studierte an der Königlichen Kunsthochschule und machte anschließend mit einer Reihe von ungewöhnlichen Dokumentarfilmen für das schwedische Fernsehen auf sich aufmerksam, in denen er u.a. schwedische Politiker einer Langzeitbeobachtung im Cinema Verité-Stil unterzog. Daneben arbeitete er als Kameramann und inszenierte Kurzfilme. „Yarden“ ist Månssons erster Langspielfilm fürs Kino.
