Ahmad, a construction worker, gets tangled up in an unfortunate business deal leading him to prison. He meets fraudster Ibrahim, who ruins his last hope to prove his innocence. Ahmad is awaken by the realization that life in prison might be better than one that he has on the outside.

MAHMOUD AL MASSAD wurde 1969 in Zarka, Jordanien, geboren. Mit seinen Dokumentationen „Shatter Hassan“ (2001), „Recycle“ (2007) und „This Is My Picture When I Was Dead“ (2010) erreichte er internationale Anerkennung. „Recycle“ wurde beim Filmfestival in Sundance 2008 mit dem World Cinema Cinematography Award ausgezeichnet und lief auf über 70 Filmfestivals. Das Drehbuch zu „Blessed Benefit“ wurde ebenfalls mehrfach ausgezeichnet – u.a. mit dem Abu Dhabi Film Commission Shasha Grant, dem Arte Cinema Award und dem Global Film Initiative Award.
